MANiME is, not anime for a man, as some of you might think, but rather anime for me, Maggeh. Maggeh’s anime. MANiME. Simple as that. Exactly why I chose to leave the ‘i’ uncapitalized, I do not know. It just seemed appropriated.
Though the title MANiME might imply posts solely about anime, I plan for this blog to explore other forms of media. Manga, obviously. On a less obvious note, manhwa (Korean comics), as well as American comics – mainly Marvel, a little DC – with a smattering of Western animation, namely Justice League and Justice League Unlimited (yes, I know they ended a long time ago). And finally, some talk about games, mainly JRPGs but also a bit on fighting games and so on. Though I don’t pride myself on being completely knowledgeable in any of them, I do believe that I know enough to blog on those topics.
I started MANiME quite a while ago, but became inactive after my blogging frenzy stopped, and then joined the team of Oi, Hayaku! with Riex at the spearhead. After that went down I decided to dust this blog of mine off and start again. Though, truthfully, I’d never actually given totally up on MANiME; even while writing for Oi, Hayaku! I always planned on doing some posts that might not have been possible on Oi, Hayaku! here.
There will be little, if any, episodic posts in MANiME, due to the fact that I find it too annoying to have to post periodically, and because I don’t want to have to constantly take screenshots for something I don’t like doing. Rather, it will delve into what I think about certain things, sometimes in the form of biased rants, sometimes as constructive criticism (though rarely) and so on. Though, really, you probably couldn’t give a damn about it all.
MANiME is updated whenever I feel like it. Cause it’s my blog.
